Welcome! We are so excited to share this new journey with all of you! Justin and I are in agreement that now is the time for us to pursue our adoption dream. Early on in our marriage, we both believed that at some point in our future we would adopt...we just didn't know when. Seven years of marriage and two precious children later, and we firmly believe the time is here.

Over the past few months, the hope of adopting had resurfaced in my heart and I began to quietly consider the reality of it. Then one morning Willow, sitting at the breakfast table, thoughtfully announced that she "wanted a new brother AND a sister who didn't have a mommy or daddy, and they could all sleep in bunk beds and she would share her toys." I re-told this exchange to Justin and he said that, he too, had been mulling it over lately. I began the intimidating task of digging through websites, looking at agencies, policies, considering countries, sending emails full of questions, and praying...a lot.

We came upon the roadblock reality that we will be transferring next year (location yet to be determined) with the Coast Guard. I felt defeated, faced with unknown waiting time until we could even start the process, knowing that a move to another state would require more paperwork and money. A few months passed without any definite decisions or action, and the desire still harbored in our hearts. Over the past few weeks, we have both felt encouraged that we are to move forward anyway, trust in the ordained timing, the location of our future home next summer, and the truth that the Lord sees our children and already knows them by name. It was again through Willow, this time several different comments over the course of a few days, that Justin and I were prompted to handle the hope again. I love how He's using our four year old daughter to embolden us to bring more sons or daughters into our home!

With Justin's Filipino heritage, we are hoping to adopt a sibling group, up to age 7,  from the Philippines. But truthfully we are open to receiving whoever the Lord has intended for our family, wherever they may be. We are brainstorming ways to raise the finances for our adoption(s), and will share how you can participate with us in growing our family. We already have one avenue in the works and I'll highlight that once the details are arranged... just know it does involve delicious, responsibly sourced coffee!

We welcome your support in prayer: for us as we navigate lots of paperwork and legal systems; our family's emotional, mental and spiritual health during this overwhelming undertaking; and most importantly, for the precious ones who are waiting to be seen and known.
